Nymphéa

Back to Pagan, 2016

Inspired by impressionism and particularly Monet, this original and poetic ensemble consists of two main pieces : an opened back under-dress made of hand painted silk chiffon squeezed around the legs and a transparent rain coat with silk hand made water lilies.

If the chiffon under-dress evokes the fluidity of the water with the lightness of its pleats and the lighter or darker gradations, just like the reflection was subjected to the difference shades of the day, from morning to nightfall, the kimono-like raincoat represents the plane surface of the pond when the water turns into a mirror where the waterlilies float.
